Fire Door Inspection Surveys

Fire Door Inspection Surveys in Derby and the Midlands

Fire doors are an essential part of a buildings compartmentation and like any other passive fire protection system, they need to be checked on a regular basis. Fire door inspections should be carried out at least every 6 months.

 

These checks are required under the Fire Safety Order 2005 for the responsible person to put in place general fire precautions, and their duties under article 17 of the Fire Safety Order in all buildings, regardless of height.

The fire safety (England) Regulations 2022 made it a legal requirement from the 23rd January 2023 for responsible persons for all muti-occupied residential buildings in England with storeys over 11 metres in height to undertake quarterly checks of all fire doors in common areas and undertake annual checks of all flat entrance doors that lead onto a buildings common parts.

Our assessor is qualified with a diploma in fire door inspections with the FDIS (Fire Door Inspection Scheme)

You will receive a comprehensive report in PDF form with all requirements required relating to your fire doors including:

  • Photo of fire door.

  • Fire door rating.

  • Self closing devices.

  • Suitable glazing leaf.

  • Intumescent seals.

  • Gap tolerance between leaf and frame.

  • Hinges.

  • Any damage to door.
